About
About our foodbank
Our foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area. We have been operating since November 2012 and in the financial year of 2022/2023, we fed 10,950 people, of which 3,929 were to children, and 7,021 were to adults.
Our Locations
We currently have five distribution centres at various locations across the town where people can bring their food vouchers to be redeemed in exchange for food. Our services are accessible on every weekday. For a comprehensive list of our opening times click here.
Our Volunteers
We currently benefit from the work of over 60 volunteers, whom give up their time to help us on a weekly basis. If you would like to help us in our work a list of volunteer opportunities and methods by which you can contact us can be found here.
Citizens Advice Debt Advice Services
St Helens foodbank also offers debt advice through St Helens Citizens Advice, which provide “financial triage” services across our food bank distribution network. These services provide professional helpĀ to manage tight finances, avoid pay day lenders and structure debt in order to help prevent a person’s financial situation getting worse and to help people break out of crisis much faster. Please see the table below for Citizens Advice availability times at our foodbanks.
